Who will be photographing our wedding?

How would you describe your style?

Me, of course! Sometimes it might be necessary to book in a second shooter, but I take on most weddings solo as it tends to create a more relaxed, calm space. My approach is to be as unobtrusive as possible, letting the individual moments and day unfold naturally. However, if you feel like you need that second shooter, we can discuss this during the planning stages.

My style is photojournalistic with a modern, artistic approach. I capture imagery through spontaneous expressions of joy, and unscripted moments that unfold naturally. I offer subtle guidance when needed, but I primarily focus on discreetly observing and unobtrusively capturing the authentic connections between you and your loved ones.

Will we meet up before the wedding & will you be able to help with the timeline?

Do you photograph LGBTQ weddings?

Yes! I like to chat with all my clients over Zoom/phone or face-to-face before they make their booking. Feeling comfortable and relaxed with all of your wedding vendors is crucial on such a personal day and we want to make sure that we’re compatible. I’ll definitely help you as much as I can with the scheduling; this is something I work closely on with each couple to ensure we’re all on the same page.

Absolutely! As long as you love each other, that’s all that matters. I’m so happy the gay marriage bill finally passed in Australia – love is love, after all...and love won!

How do you edit the photos & what is your style?

Do we need to know how to pose?

Editing is something that each photographer approaches differently. Throughout my years, I’ve developed and honed my own customised style. Essentially, I like to keep things as honest and timeless as possible. I don’t like to edit the authentic ‘you’ too heavily, though I’m happy to remove any unwanted blemishes. I’ll provide a mix of colour and black & white, depending on the mood and emotion of each moment.

Not at all! That’s what I’m here for. I love capturing my couples being the authentic, wonderful people they are, not pretending to be someone they’re not. I’ll give plenty of direction on the day, but it will be geared towards getting the most natural results possible; I find the best imagery comes from just being yourself and having fun.

How important is light on the day?

Do you need a ‘shot list’ for the day?

I find a shot list can restrict the flow of the day, so there’s no need to provide one. I like to shoot like a photojournalist, letting the event unfold naturally in front of me. Don’t worry, though – I’ll certainly be capturing all the important elements on the day, including all the family portraits you need! I’ll send you an online form before the wedding so I can gather all the relevant information.

Very! All good photography reflects the quality of the light. As an seasoned wedding photographer, I can adapt and work in all light conditions, understanding that external factors are sometimes unavoidable. Lighting is one of the most important elements of your wedding day photographs. I always encourage my couples to schedule the ceremony later in the day if possible, ideally around the golden hour (the hour before sunset). This light is softer than the midday overhead sun, reducing harsh shadows and highlights while evening out skin tones.

Will you travel for our wedding?

What happens if it rains?

No problem. We’ll load up on umbrellas and shoot some amazing shots; in fact, rainy days often produce stunning imagery, as the light is beautifully diffused by the clouds and water. I’m always equipped to handle rain, so although it might not be ideal for your wedding plans, we’ll still capture beautiful images.

Of course! I’m based in Sydney, Northern Beaches, but I’m available for weddings all over NSW (Southern Highlands, Hunter Valley, South Coast and Byron Bay), Australia and even internationally. If your wedding is taking place abroad, I’m passport-equipped so please get in touch for a chat and a custom quote. Depending on the location, travel costs include 1–2 nights’ accomodation, car hire and return flights. I’ll handle all the booking!

How do we make a booking?

What are your rates?

You can send an email or use my contact form to check availability. I’ll get back to you with a full price list and various package options. To secure your date and wedding coverage, I require a $500 retainer and signed wedding contract. The payment is split over two installments, the first due three months from your date, with the final balance due one month before your wedding day. I also love meeting couples over Zoom or face-to-face to chat about your ideas and vision for the day, so feel free to get in touch!

Do you have public liability insurance?

How many photos will I receive and how long does it take to edit them?

My average is around 600–750 individually crafted photographs for an eight-hour wedding. It approximately takes six weeks to deliver your finished gallery.
