Jess and James were married at Montrose House in the Southern Highlands in autumn, when the grounds shift into deep reds and golds, and the whole property feels like it belongs in another century.
They brought their newborn into the ceremony, held close between them as they exchanged vows. It added magic to the moment that changed the weight of everything around it. The guests felt it too.
Montrose House is one of my favourite Southern Highlands venues to photograph. The gardens, the light through the trees, the way the property sits in the landscape. It rewards patience and quiet observation, which is exactly how Jess and James approached their day.
The evening settled into mulled wine, good food, and the kind of dancing that only happens when everyone in the room knows each other well.
If you’re planning a Southern Highlands wedding, I’d love to hear about it.
